The First Big Step in Caring for Aging Parents (Peggy Tacco, Home Instead) 

The hardest thing we face as adult children is watching a beloved parent struggle as aging changes their lives. You may struggle with trying to balance your role as employee, parent, friend, and spouse and feel the stress of adding the worry about an aging parent. This program will help you create a framework to a meaningful and on-going conversation that leads to agreed planning.

Friday, February 11 at 12pm: Tenacity is Ageless:

A Fresh Perspective on Aging (Lisa Wietzman, Benjamin Rose Institute) 

This presentation will provide a new perspective on aging and the challenges of caregiving while introducing us to a valuable resource.

Friday, February 18 at 12pm: Self-care for Caregivers 

(Kathy Myers, BW Nursing Faculty) 

Caring for a loved one can add an extra layer of stress and anxiety to our work and home life. Self-care activities are important to maintain a healthy and manageable lifestyle. Our speaker will review strategies, tips, and resources for managing our own care while caring for others.

Friday, February 25 at 12pm: Legal Considerations for Caregivers 

(Margie Karl, Attorney) 

Local Attorney, Margie Karl will discuss legal issues that caregivers may find themselves in when helping an aging parent. She will discuss the living will, code status and financial and medical power of attorney.
