WalkBW is a parallel event series that will build upon our integrative, virtual walking challenge.

Campus leaders and departments will be hosting opportunities to walk together.

Cleveland Zoo

Sunday, October 3 starting at 8:30 am

The NSNA nursing students will host a "Walk to End Alzheimer's" on Sunday, October 3rd starting at 8:30 am at the Cleveland Metropark Zoo. Staff and faculty are invited to join and can register for the walk below!

Our nursing students belong to the NSNA, and the committee decided to plan an activity that would involve all nursing students, friends, family, and the community. Also, the walk provides Alzheimer's awareness and benefits participants' health and wellness.

Wednesday, October 6 12:00 -12:30 pm

Join Employee Wellness and “Walk This Way” on Wednesday, October 6 from 12:00pm-12:30pm. We will start at the Welcome Center Patio and use the Campus Walking Trail as our guide. On the walk, we will learn all the different walking styles—from a stroll to a power walk! Students, Staff, Faculty, and Alumni are invited to join!

Employee Wellness will host a “Mindful Walk” on Tuesday, October 12 from 11:00pm-11:30am. We will start at The Welcome Center Patio and use the Campus Walking Trail as our guide. On the walk, we will explore different areas of campus and use our senses to fully enjoy the beauty of campus. Students, Staff, Faculty, and Alumni are invited to join!

Nature Walk

Walktober Team 'S.A. Superstars' will host a Local Nature walk on Thursday, October 14 from 12:00 pm-12:45 pm.We will start at Bonds Hall, head to Coe Lake, and walk a route following the Coe Lake Nature Walk trails. Students, Staff, Faculty, and Alumni are invited to join!

The Department of Allied Health Sport and Wellness will host a Dimensions of Wellness Walk. We will begin the half-hour walk at the Lou Higgins Recreation Center, on Thursday, October 21 at 2:00 pm. On this wellness journey, we will discover and locate the many resources available to BW Community members aimed at improving one’s overall health and wellbeing.

A Walk in the Park

Monday, October 25 at 5:15 pm

Join Lisa Judge for “A Walk in the Park”, Monday October 25 at 5:15pm. If you are looking for a fun fall hike in the Metroparks by campus, this is the walk for you!

We will walk from Giant Eagle to Berea's Falls Scenic Overlook, also known as "the gorge." (1.3 miles). Bring your camera or phone to snap some gorgeous photos of the surrounding fall scenery.

Please meet on the north side of the Giant Eagle parking lot by 5:15 as to not be left behind.

Fall Foliage Stroll

Wednesday, October 27 4:00 - 4:30 pm

The Student Life Center will host a “Fall Foliage Stroll” on Wednesday, October 27 from 4:00 - 4:30 pm. We will start at Union Steps and use the Coe Lake Walking Trail as our guide. On the walk, we will explore the different colors of the leaves on the trees and admire the beauty of Coe Lake. We may even have a leaf activity once we return to the Union. Conversations amongst attendees will encourage a decompress debrief from the day. Students, Staff, Faculty, and Alumni are invited to join!

Haunted BW

Thursday, October 28 8:00 - 9:00 pm

Join Dan Karp, Assistant Vice President and Director of University Relations for an evening lantern tour of haunted BW. Students and faculty are not the only ones that walk these halls. We'll take a walk in and out of buildings all over campus as we hear ghost stories shared for generations. You'll get some exercise and raise your spirits - maybe even raise a few other spirits too. Bring a flashlight and sensible shoes. We'll all leave together promptly at 8PM, no responsibility for those that disappear during the walk. Approximately 1 hour. Weather permitting.
